Why shouldn’t I Jailbreak my own Apple TV 4K?

Where do I even start? We started jailbreaking Apple products back in 2013 all the way up to 2016 with the Apple TV. Once I left the iPhone I forgot all about dealing with Apple until 2020. This is when a client emailed and asked if we had Jailbroken an Apple TV before. Of course.

He then asked if he sent us an Apple TV could we jailbreak it for him and how much would it be? We let him know, that first, we would give it a try the way we remembered how to, and if it worked only then did he pay us, cool. So Ryan was nice enough to send us his brand new 2020 Apple TV 4K 64GB the first one with the silver remote.

We went back into our saved YouTube videos and tried the old way of sideloading IPAs onto the Apple TV with Xcode. It didn’t work, we couldn’t understand what was happening. Why now not work?

While Morgan went and searched all over the internet to find out Cydia had a court order to be taken down. The site was up but the IPA no longer worked at all. So sideloading through Xcode was a no-go for us.

From there we tried everything with our MacBooks to try and sideload like the old days. We came across everything and nothing worked. We noticed you needed to pay the $100 Apple Deveoplers fee and try to use a third party to sign. On top of that, another way had something to do with the Device UDID and that took 72 hours.

We finally called it quits with trying to use Xcode, which I’m happy we did. It’s just too much to deal with Xcode. Some other stuff was very helpful for us to create our own way of sideloading the apps onto the device by going through our companies. No, we are not telling you how we load these devices, we will be here all day.

Because if you miss a step, I don’t want you blowing up our email box and Discord saying it doesn’t work. We all load very differently and we do this multiple times a day.

Now, you are very welcome to go out and look online at how to jailbreak your Apple TV but here is the new twist, the new boxes don’t have the type C plugin on the back anymore.

Do I need to pay for a VPN?

First, it’s cool now that VPNs are even available for Apple TV. It took them long enough but it was Apple blocking them from the start. IPVanish was the first company to make the jump so big up to them, if you want a VPN give them a try.

To answer the question, yes and no. To stream third-party IPAs on the Apple TV outside of Kodi, say like Popcorn Time or Yattee you need a VPN or SmartDNS turned on. If not you will be flagged by your internet provider for streaming third-party apps.

When we tried this with Kodi, we didn’t need a VPN nor SmartDNS. It just let us stream whatever we wanted. Now, since the upgrade to tvOS 17.5, we have not tested this out. So what I’m saying is, we don’t know if this has changed or not.

With the Jailbroken Apple TV 4Ks we send out they come with a free special DNS that gives you 100% privacy from your Internet company when streaming and downloading movies, TV series, and anime from Popcorn Time. It’s CloudFlare DNS, the only problem is that Cloudflare DNS blocks the updates from the IPAs on the Apple TV. You have to go into settings and turn it off first before updating. Once updated, you go back into settings and turn it back on.

Do I need to pay for debrid?

No, real debrid or any debrid is only on Kodi I believe. I don’t have an Apple TV in front of me to check. I could be wrong and you can use it on Popcorn Time as well. It’s not needed, you can stream all the same content for free.

I believe debrid gives you bluray and Dolby vision links. I’ve never tried it out myself so it’s really tough to say. Do you need it, no you can stream for free find without it. You can’t use it on Live TV, Sports, or PPVs which makes it pointless to me.

Using Popcorn Time on the Jailbroken Apple TV 4K, it will give you 4K links for Movies, TV Series, and Anime. I have to check if you can rewatch PPVs on there like UFC, AEW, and WWE.

Yes, use Popcorn Time to do this. It doesn’t matter what paid subscription application it is, the content can be accessed. This is why you want that DNS turned on so your internet provider won’t flag your device.

We won’t list the subscription application's name to avoid copyright. This Apple TV has them all including shows like Euphoria, For Mankind, House of Dragons, Briderton, The Boys, Shogun, Loki, Breaking Bad, and Tulsa King.

But we all pretty much know what we mean. The movie, TV series, or anime has to be on a platform. Any movie, TV series, or anime you are looking for you most likely can watch it for free using the Jailbroken Apple TV 4K.

Can I watch Live Premium TV Channels and International Premium TV Channels for free?

Yes to local channels, premium cable channels, and English-speaking international channels. You are all covered and good to go. Spanish channels you are pretty good as well. For everyone else, it gets a little tricky. With the newest build we have now added to Kodi 21, the device covers European and Asia International Channels.

The problem is, I’m not sure if these are premium channels or just regular TV channels. I don’t live in these countries so it’s a little hard to promote because I’m not sure about the nature of the channels.

The Apple TV is limited due to Kodi but with the right build, you can gain access to worldwide channels. Most people who are developers speak English and Spanish, so they go after those popular channels. As a default channels from Thailand, Hindi, South India, Italy, France, Germany, and Japan are included depending on the build.

We load three Kodi Builds to give you more options. One build is focused on Live TV, and the other on Sports and PPVs. Not all builds have everything and not all builds are built equally. Like my favorite build, which is GAME ON. Design for Live Sports, PPVs, and Replays of the events. By default, it has a small number of premium cable channels. This build will not be on the Apple TV because it’s been down since Kodi updated to Omega. I stop by once a day to see if this build is working.

My favorite backup build will be on the Apple TV and the best part it comes with Retro Games. Just use the Live TV, Sports, Music, and Retro Gaming. No need to try and watch movies and TV shows, that stuff works better and faster on Popcorn Time, plus you can download it on Popcorn Time.

Can I watch Live Sports and PPVs for free?
