Yes, I noticed it’s a fancy title on top but this is the keyword of the blog. Plus the real title as well. We are Devices (D3vicx), and we now specialize in helping people watch TV Entertainment on ONE Opulence streaming device and that is the Nvidia Shield Pro.

I’m going to give you everything you need to know from start to finish on how to get your Nvidia Shield Pro back to day one of speed and keep it that way. I noticed a lot of people negate their streaming devices.

Don’t do that, if I’m going to share with you my Opulence ways for the Nvidia Shield Pro, treat it right. These streaming devices can last up to 5 years or more streaming Free TV Entertainment. They work anywhere in the world as long as you have access to the Internet.

So, don’t be ungrateful, show your streaming device a little love.

Pick up a stand. Yes, my first piece of advice is to give the device some breathing room. Get a 3D-printed stand, a wall mount, or a TV Mount. But don’t just have it lying on its side. This is step one of taking care of your tech. I will link a kid on Etsy who had 3D-printed stands for like $9.

How to stop the lagging on Nvidia Shield Pro

These are some steps you can take to help make your Nvidia Shield faster in 2023 heading to 2024.

You first need to remove Android 11 from your Nvidia Shield Pro. This means you need to downgrade and reset the settings for your Nvidia Shield Pro. If your Nvidia Shield Pro is loaded, see if you can move the APK files to a USB so you can reload them again.

If you have different Kodi’s, these are called Kodi Forks.

Look for the files in the system and in Downloader. Once you have located them, this is for everyone. Go to the Google Play Store and get X-plore File Manager. You will use X-Plore to transfer files from the Nvidia Shield Pro to the USB.

You will need all of this done before you start the downgrade of the Nvidia Shield Pro from Android 11 back to Android 9. Funny how NVIDIA left this information for everyone to do on their own. You do not need to root the device. Downgrading will do all the work for you.

I have placed my YouTube video in the blog. It’s a clear walkthrough on how to downgrade from Android 11. You will need a few things before you get started. A Type A to Type A cable, a Shield Controller, or USB mouse, the files from XDR which we show you in the video, and files from NVIDIA also shown in the video.

Plug your Nvidia Shield Pro up to a power strip so you can use the on and off buttons. If not you will find yourself unplugging and plugging the power cable back into the small streaming device, like I am in the video. I’ve done it so many times it looks like I’m pushing a button but I am not, I promise.

You need to create the Developer Account first.

1. Get yourself the Shield Controller: Model P2920 for Nvidia 2019

2. USB 3.0 Type-A to Type-A cable https://amazon.com

3.  Get yourself a Developer Account https://developer.nvidia.com/

WARNING: If you have a Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pro and don’t know how to get the information back onto the device. DON’T DO THIS. If you don’t care, go ahead and do this. 

*I mistakenly said, “Remote” You need the Shield Controller.*

Plug your USB 3.0 into your Nvidia Shield Pro Top port and then into your Mac. Have your power cable to the Shield unplugged when starting.

What if I can’t get my Nvidia Shield to downgrade from Android 11, what do I do next?

Now, if you can’t get Android 11 off of your Nvidia Shield Pro, you need to try plugging in your ethernet cable. Nothing is more powerful than direct contact with the internet. Once you connect the ethernet cable to the Nvidia Shield Pro run some speed tests.

My favorite APK to run a speed test with is Speed Test WiFi Analyzer. I’m pretty sure it’s in the Google Play Store. I say that because I sideloaded the ones I put on the Androids we offer here.

You should see speeds of about 100 Mbps. This is normal and more powerful for the device.

As for Kodi and Plex try sideloading them from Kodi.tv/download the 32-bit version. Due to Android 11, you want smaller files on the Nvidia Shield Pro to help it run a lot smoother. For Plex try this version to download for your device, Plex.tv/download.

When not using Kodi or Plex make sure you Force Stop both programs. You don’t want them running in the background slowing things down even more.

When you Force Stop, you are giving them time to rest and when restarting they are reconnecting and updating addons.

Now if this Kodi doesn’t work for you look for Kodi Forks. They are special APKs of Kodi Builds, normally a lot smaller but still run great. At this moment I have none to give away for free. You will have to search for these on your own. You will need Downloader to get these Kodi Forks.

Also, check and see if your internet provider has put a block on using third-party APKs for your location. You can check this by using a VPN. I recommend IPVanish, out of everyone else they are still going strong.
