What is good everyone? And thank you for stopping by our site D3vicx (devices). I’m going to let you know about this amazing little surround sound system I bought from Best Buy. I live in a New York City apartment and my Vizo system was too much and not the best for watching movies. It was great for music but clearly, it was missing something.

I ended up at Best Buy later that day after I sold my Vizo surround sound system. Once at Best Buy I walked around for a little looking at different small soundbars that could fit into my apartment. I wasn’t on a budget, I was just looking for something that worked. That’s when I came across the Sony HT-MT300.

How did this little surround sound system end up being the best? It comes with something called Dolby Voice. Yep, I had no clue what that was as well.

It was just chilling there on the display where you can play with it and test out this Dolby Voice feature. Everything was controlled by the remote but there is no screen on the device. Just these labels at the top that turn blue to indicate you are on that setting.

I believe after playing with the Sony HT-MT300 and a Bose sound bar, what really won me is the Dolby Voice. If you are watching a movie and the action plus music is loud but you can’t hear what they are saying. You can hit the voice button on the remote to turn up the volume on that focus alone without turning up the other noises as well.

Besides the fact, this Sony HT-MT300 came with a sound bar and subwoofer. It was the fact that the subwoofer could be placed under the loveseat or next to it. I don’t know why but that ended up being my favorite feature about the system while I was still in the store. I could see myself getting the Sony HT-MT300 for my size apartment and placing that subwoofer under my loveseat.

Now, I’m becoming a fan of Sony and I was shocked to see they made an apartment-style surround sound system. I thought it was just for people who lived in a sardine can, called an apartment like myself. This Sony HT-MT300 is small and beautiful. Easy to place in your space and moved around. Man can this little system get loud. I DJ as well and I was jamming out during the pandemic lockdowns most days for the neighborhood.

Now clearly at this point, I have become a fanboy of Sony for my Home Entertainment. I love this Sony HT-MT300 surround sound system so much that I will be building a special casing for it out of wood. I want to keep this protected and going as long as possible. I will add those photos to this blog and our social media account when I’m done.

Before I forget, where can you pick up a Sony HT-MT300 and how much should you pay? I pick a brand new one up from Best Buy for $199.99 (I don’t see a subwoofer in photos.). If you can find one that’s Open Box, make sure everything is in there. You can save about $25 to $50 on that. Check on Amazon 8 left, this is what I have the sound bar and subwoofer. Or you can buy a pre-owned one from eBay or Mercari, remember to negotiate the price on used items. NEVER BUY REFURBISH TECH EVER!
