If you missed Season 1, here is your chance to watch it before the premiere of Gentleman Jack season 2 drops on Monday, April 25th, 2022, on HBO in the US and BBC in the UK. I love this show, wild horses can’t keep me away. It’s been two years and we all have been waiting on Gentleman Jack season 2 due to this and I find myself watching season 1 over and over again. I did download Gentleman Jack season 1 from my Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Tv Pro to keep with me and play on my mod version of Plex. Yes, in my line of work we jailbreak every free app as well due to all the ads on them.

Now season 1 starts with Anne Lister coming back to Fairfax and back home to everything she owns. Yes, Anne Lister owns the estate due to her great mind for business, it was passed down to her. On Anne’s first couple of days, back everyone is talking to her about the drama that happened with the young kid and about Miss Ann Walker. Implying Anne Lister would be a good friend for Ann Walker because of her shyness, so they think. Now, Anne Lister sees this as ok, why are people talking about this boring rich young lady I had already met years ago?

Not knowing, this encounter is about to be very different this time around. I haven’t read Anne Lister’s journal to fill in some of the blanks about Anne’s thoughts on their second meeting fully. But you can tell Ann Walker did something very different than, that caught Anne's attention for sure this time around. And hopefully, it wasn’t just her money. I will say this is a beautifully told story about the first two women in history that married, that’s recorded. It puts to bed a lot of bad stereotypes about lesbians being broke and women being bad with money. Yes, this is a stereotype about women and lesbians in the US.

I believe if this was shown earlier in history, we as women would have a very different look upon life, no matter what our sexual orientation is. These two women took a chance and broke the mould completely apart. Ann Walker by being so rich and never marrying a man for so long, up to 29 years old and knowing she has always been in love with Anne Lister since she was 14 years old. And for Anne Lister learning from Miss Walker, doing things you don’t want to do but still doing them to show good faith. How would these two ladies have known they could really pull it off? I wish I knew, and they did pull it off. I’m happy someone kept records of this huge accomplishment in writing and Miss Walker did the drawings. Being openly married back in the 1800s as two women because at this time it wasn’t against the law like it was for two men. A good reason the whole LBGT community needs to stay together.

These are just my thoughts on this beautiful visional piece of work and how they really use words Anne Lister thought and wrote down in her journal.
