Netflix has dropped another family-friendly comedy movie, Home Team for all you football fans with kids playing in the game. Based on a True Story, an event that happened to the Saints Head Coach Sean Payton back in 2012. I was able to stream this movie already and no I don’t have Netflix. Some of you may not remember too well but if you watched Football the season of 2010 when the Saints won the Super Bowl for the first time in history, you saw what was happening. I remember everyone getting popped for #bountygate in 2012 the two seasons after it all happened, even the Detroit Lions were in the crossfire of this. But it mostly focused was around the New Orleans Saints and their defensive Head Coach.

Now because Sean Payton was Head Coach of the New Orleans Saints, he had to take responsibility for this scandal. What was the scandal you ask? Coches were giving bonuses to their defensive players who took out other teams’ good players. Like I said this was happening in the Saints and the Lions from what I remember. Luckily the movie doesn’t really cover #bountygate but it starts with Sean Payton Head Coach taking responsibility because he is at the top. Something good to teach our kids responsibility. Sean Payton went back to his family in Texas to visit and see his son Connor Payton. Once Sean gets to Texas he goes right to Connor’s football game. Sean never asked his son Connor to play football that was all his son idea.

Due to Sean Payton being in New Orleans all the time for work, he never was there in the important years of his son's life. I say work hard when they are babies and they can’t remember anything. Around the time kids start to gain memory is the time to start cutting back on work and being there for them. Sean Payton didn’t know it yet but this was a blessing in disguise for him to build back that father-son relationship with Connor. Sean Payton was out of the NFL for one full year giving him a whole lot of time to spend with his 12-year-old son and funny he started by helping with the coaching of Connor’s 6th-grade football team. See how football just brings us all together, teaching the whole team great lessons as Sean learns new ones too. At the end of the heartful movie, I had to jump in to write about it.
