In this blog post, we will be going over which Apple TVs can be jailbroken and which ones are no longer worth using in 2023 to 2024.

When jailbreaking an Apple TV, there is a yearly developer fee. It can range from $100 to $25, depending on which route you take to jailbreak your Apple TV. Most people use Xcode to jailbreak their Apple TVs, but you first need an IPA to load onto the Apple TV.

Let's face it, IPAs which stands for iOS Package App Store are getting harder to come by in 2023, but there are a few more now than there were a year ago.

The Apple TVs you can Jailbreak

This is going to sound a bit crazy, but it's 100% true. You can pretty much jailbreak any Apple TV as long as it has tvOS 15 or later. If you have an older version of tvOS, you're out of luck.

I know you are seeing all these cool ways of jailbreaking an Apple TV on YouTube. Yet when you try it, it doesn’t seem to work.

Why is that?

I'm not sure. I can’t even tell if the IPAs on the Apple TV they are using are even real. They show you the Apple TV is loaded but they never go into the application to show you that anything works.

We know because we've Jailbroken our Apple TV 4Ks and installed Popcorn Time, Kodi, and a few more IPAs.

We've even shown you how our Jailbroken Apple TV 4K works in our YouTube video, "How to change DNS on Your Apple TV (2023)". We went into Popcorn Time and showed that it worked by playing a few of the TV Shows from paid subscription applications. We had to exit quickly because of YouTube's new copyright policy, but you can see that it works.

Do you offer Jailbreak Apple TV Video Classes?

At the moment we are hosting classes on Patreon. We do still have the Video Classes but we are looking to create our own website to support it. When taking our video class, you will need to pay the developer fee to keep the IPAs running on your Apple TV.

Apple charges everyone a yearly developer fee, regardless of how you load your apps.

If you don't pay the developer fee, your Apple TV will need to be reloaded every 7 days. If you have an Apple TV, check to see if it has tvOS 15 or if it can be updated to tvOS 15.

If your Apple TV doesn't have tvOS 15, consider getting the new Apple TV 4K 3rd Generation 128GB. If you buy what you want now, you save money in the long run. In other words, don't be frugal. Apple TVs are premium streaming devices that should last you for 3-5 years.
