They keep calling this the New Era of the Nets, ok let us run with that. How to watch the New Era of the Brooklyn Nets in 2023? We are going to answer that but let’s start with the Trade Deadline.
The Nets traded 2 All-Stars to get what they have today. I think it was a smart move and it will pay off in the long run. I can see the bigger picture, the potential you can call it. I program things, building things from nothing, so it’s easy to see what they are doing.
2022 Playoffs the Nets were put out in the first round because the 2 All-Stars had played no defense. How are you winning anything if you can’t stop the other team from scoring? Enter my man, Finny-Smith, we already had Claxton but he needs help. Let’s count it the Nets now have Claxton, Dinwiddie, Finny-Smith, and Sharpe. I want to add in Cam Johnson as well, don’t sleep on that young man.
Then the question was who is going to get the points? Cam Thomas's last three games with 40-plus points. We got Seth Curry a great 3-point shooter plus Harris who has the record for the most 3’s in the Nets’ history and is right behind Steph Curry for the most 3’s in NBA right now. Where are you at, now we have Bridges as well, excited about this guy. Plus Johnson, Finney-Smith, O’Neale, this whole team pretty much can shoot 3’s.
Welcome to the New Brooklyn Era
The leader whether he knows it or not at this moment is Spencer Dinwiddie. Welcome back first off, this man can ball, he is a natural leader without having to say it. “You know who I’m talking about, but no Free Promotion over here BOY!” It’s going to take time for them to gel together, they are in 4th place which is good, doesn’t matter how they got there. All these new great players with a lot of potentials are in a great place right now.
Will Ben Simmons be any help to this team? Let me call it right now, No. They should have traded Ben Simmons or bought out his contract to get him off the team. That could have made room for someone else who wants to play. Like Griffin, you remember that amazing year Griffin played his heart out for the Nets in the Playoffs. It’s just so many other guys out there we could have gotten to replace Ben Simmons. Unless Ben wants to stop playing kids’ games and really get out there and play basketball. (I don’t see that happening.)
This is the time for the New Era of the Nets to take it all from everyone. Boston did it last year then they came together and started playing like a team. The Nets have so many future All-Stars that my mind is going wild just counting them. Claxton is a future All-Star, look at what he is doing on defense and putting points on the board. Johnson, Thomas, and Bridges are all future All-Stars. Guys who should get love but it being overlooked, are Harris, Watanabe, Finney-Smith, and Dinwiddie. Below I’m going to lay out all the players on the Nets right now.
From there and I’m to do a lot of mixing and matching for the floor. Which this coach is not doing. Also, how did this guy get the job? You need to play the whole damn team if you have no so call All-Stars. You have 1, you just have to find him, and photos will be added below as well.

The Brooklyn Nets Rosters
Let us start with the Point Guards, why do we have 5? For what reason? Also, Ben Simmons is not a damn Point Guard, my understanding of a Point Guard is someone who can shoot a jump shot and Ben Simmons doesn’t have a jump shot that is for damn sure. So we have #26 Spencer Dinwiddie, #30 Seth Curry, #8 Patty Mills, #4 Edmond Sumner, and #10 Ben Simmons. 4 out of 5 of these guys can shoot a 3-pointer and bring the ball up the court.
Ben Simmons to me plays like a Power Forward, always going right to the basket. He could be a Center if he was taller, but a Point Guard, not a damn chance.

1 Shooting Guard, #9 Dru Smith. You can buy out Ben Simmons and get another Shooting Guard. Here is another problem, this guy doesn’t really get minutes on the floor in the regular season and he should. He is the only Shooting Guard and you don’t play him. This is due to bad coaching and not using every little piece he has on the Brooklyn Nets team. I can coach this team better than this new Coach and Steve Nash.

4 Small Forwards, I will say I don’t think one of these guys is a real Small Forward. I’m saying this in a good way. #24 Cam Thomas, #1 Mikal Bridges, #12 Joe Harris, and #6 David Duke Jr. I think Joe Harris would be a great Shooting Guard or even Point Guard. Harris has great ball control and can be a good leader if given the chance. He makes 3’s like Drake makes money, easy. Yet, this guy is not starting on the floor and he should. Joe Harris has been with the Brooklyn Nets the longest out of everyone and has shooting records with the team. Give this man his time on the floor.

5 Power Forwards, are you sure it’s not just 4 of them? I guess one of the guys is not a Center like I thought, crazy. #18 Yuta Watanabe, #00 Royce O’Neale, #28 Dorian Finney-Smith, #2 Cam Johnson, and #20 Day’Ron Sharpe. Sharpe is 6”11 he clearly is a Center. This guy can play Center very well to add onto that. I think these 4 guys are amazing players and all should be on the floor at least 10 minutes per game and you will see the differences. Watanabe is a great 3-point shooter. I can see him being moved over to a Shooting Guard as well. It’s hard because all these guys are incredible hands down. O’Neale is not afraid to keep trying to shoot 3’s into one goes in. Johnson the last 2 games has been turning it on with the 3’s and steals. Finney-Smith doesn’t get his credit, fabulous defense player.

1 Center, #33 Nicolas Claxton a future All-Star is this guy. This guy is exciting to watch with the blocks. This is the heart of the defense on this team. He goes so hard when he plays. I’m very impressed with Claxton each game.

How to get more players?
Brooklyn Nets Players
At the time during the rebuild, they should have taken anything to cut the dead weight of Ben Simmons and that 35 million they are paying him. Yea, 35 million and he is doing nothing at all. Now he has a so-called knee injury. I thought Ben Simmons was an All-Star at first so I was confused when they would say the Brooklyn Nets are going into the 2023 Playoffs without any All-Stars.
First, this is risky and I respect the owner to try something new. At this point what does he have to really lose?
They gave up everything for 3 All-Stars who only played 16 games together and that was not even in the Playoffs. Each time, someone was hurt. That right there was a sign it was not working. And they gave away great players because of a luxury tax. Take the tax hit and put together the best team. If you bought out Ben Simmons you wouldn’t have the luxury tax (I don’t think.)
Now, with the buyouts, I’m not sure if you can pick up more players in time for the Playoffs. But at this point, I can only think of Griffin and they need 1 more Center who goes hard like Claxton.

Line Ups
With this roster, you can do so much. A Starting Lineup you want 3 different options depending on what you want to be done. You want points on the board right away you are looking at, Claxton, Harris, Watanabe, Dinwiddie, and Johnson. Reason for this lineup, you get points on the board and you still have 3 guys who go hard with defense.

Next Lineup, you can go to confusion who you are playing. Sharpe, Sumner, Bridges, Thomsan, and Mills. Patty Mills was a starting player what happened? No one knows, it’s not like he messed up or something, he can lead. You got Sharpe who can box out, Bridges who can play defense and shoot. Sumner can play both sides and has been since the trade of all the new players. My boy Finney-Smith, do I need to even say more. This would be an amazing starting lineup.
Last, you want to stop the other team from scoring. Claxton, Dinwiddie, Bridges, Johnson, and Finney-Smith. Who is scoring what on them? Plus you have guys who can shoot 3’s all day long. This would also be the lineup I ended with to make sure I won a game.
It’s so much talent on this team every person on this team should be on the floor playing in every game. If not what are you doing here? (Ben Simmons)
