Co-Main Event Welterweight Bout: Gilbert Burns vs Jorge Masvidal

Welcome back “Gamebred” Jorge Masvidal vs Gilbert Burns to UFC 287 in Miami where both of these guys train and live. I don’t know if they are fighting for King of Miami or just to get back in the Title picture. Both guys lost to Kamara Usman. But New Champion Leon Edwards is no walk in the park gentlemen.
Leon did something no one else could do and that was taken down by Usman, Head Shot Dead. Back to the two guys in this fight. I’m a fan of both but I have a problem with Jorge, he doesn’t work on his weakness which is wrestling. Burns can take you down and make you tap out. Yes, I know fights start standing but if you are easy to take down, I wouldn’t stand but for so long.
I know both guys are going in there with a game plan. You need one when fighting at this level but I only see Burns walking out the winner. The only reason is that I see Jorge not working on his ground game.
Main Event Middleweight Title Bout: (C) Alex Pereira vs Israel Adesanya
How many damn times are these two going to go at it? I mean this in a good way. Yes, today Alex Pereira is the Champion but his main problem is the weight cut. Plus it has been exposed this guy can’t wrestle for shit. I don’t care how much you train with amazing wrestlers, you Alex Pereira can not wrestle.
Pereira vs Adesanya
The first UFC fight with them exposed so much about Pereira and the one great thing about Izzy is he can adjust. Hopefully, both guys are 90% going into this fight. I hear it’s rare anyone is 100% going into a fight due to training.
I get a feeling Izzy is going to win this fight in Style with a Highlight reel on Alex Pereira. Like one of those feel-good moments. I had this same feeling about Edwards before he fought Usman for the Title. The same went for when Nunes got her Title back by beating Pena. It’s just so much energy out there, with these fights going back and forth. My guy is clearly Izzy on this one.
I think Pereira just got exposed in the worst way possible. He doesn’t have the skills and years of knowledge to close that door. If you can’t wrestle in the UFC, you are fucked.
