Now Season 1 was amazing and the special episode really gives an understanding of Rue (Zendaya) and Jules's (Hunter) relationship. A close-up of what was said and what wasn’t said. It seems as everything was made up from both points of view. This is not good, because Rue is our Narrator this whole time. Rue is a young lady who just gets out of rehab but still gets high. And Jules is a young Trans lady who just moved to the area. Now off the back Fez (Rue’s Dealer) tells Rue about Jules, saying he thinks they will become very good friends. Now by this time Rue saw Jules on her way home from rehab riding on her (Jules) bike.

I love Jules, she is fearless about shit that would freak you out and seems very comfortable in her own skin. But she can be very naive when it comes to love. Very trustworthy towards men she is just meeting for the first time. It’s never really talked about if Jules is straight, bisexual, or gay which is great because sexuality and gender is a spectrum scale in my eyes. It’s depicted as the very norm which is amazing. Watching this you don’t really care that Jules is transgender, you care about who she is in love with and how she is feeling.

Now Rue, crazy as it sounds, makes getting high look cool. She is down to earth and at the same time suffers from mental health when she is not high. But when life starts to happen to her, she reaches for the high to deal. At one point Jules tells Rue, they can’t be friends if Rue keeps getting high. Jules doesn’t want to invest any feelings and time into someone who wants to die. And right there Rue stops getting high for like 2 weeks. Now Rue had someone she really wanted to impress so she stopped and then realized her feelings were her falling in love with Jules. Again Rue's sexuality is looked at as the norm in the setting because she had sex once but that was it really. Now she is becoming a teenager feeling good things again in her life and her fear sits in the back of her mind, the good feelings never last. At this point, it’s important for Rue to focus on being sober and Ali (Rue sponsor) wants her to focus on just that, her sobriety.

We know they started filming season 2 a little while ago and the question is when will it return? Well, it’s between Winter of 2021 or Early 2022.
