Now let us talk about this, Covington was in Masvidal's shadow until that night in Brazil when he had to step out and show he is that guy. I know Masvidal got hands that’s all great and all but when you are on your back what are you going to do. That flying knee is not going to work on Covington, he knows Masvidal too well. And if you are not growing in skills Covington is seeing that as well, Covington knows how Masvidal trains. The problem is Masvidal doesn’t see what is new about Covington. How he is training, what’s new, and that gives Covington the edge in this fight.

The Match Card:

UFC 272: Covington vs Masvidal

Jorge Masvidal is coming back from being knocked out cold. Yes, I believe Colby Covington can hit that sweet spot on Masvidal’s chin and put his lights out as well, he almost put Usman out. Once someone knocks you out it’s out there that it can happen and it looks very easy all you need to do is hit him in the same spot. Covington has become a very smart fighter and at the same time, Masvidal has become a very dangerous fighter. I wouldn’t fight Masvidal, I would throw bricks at him first, so you are a very brave man Covington. My pick is clearly Colby ”Chaos” Covington and I don’t even like this guy, lol. I do like Gamebread but his fighting skills are not at Chaos level, sorry it’s the truth. I don’t see Jorge “Gamebread” Masvidal's skills getting better, you need to find new trainers for that next-level stuff.

UFC 272: Dos Anjos vs Fiziev

So this would have been a great fight. The problem is Fiziev has Covid so he is out. They are looking to keep RDA on the card and looking for someone new. If they have someone, it hasn’t been released who it is just yet, so stay tuned. The only downside to this is if RDA can’t fight this Saturday we won’t see him again until June or July.

UFC 272: Barboza vs Mitchell

This is an amazing fight and I need to see this one. Crazy! I love both of these guys but one has the upper hand. And it is “Thug Nasty” Bryce Mitchell, his training is not solo but it’s also not common. I say this because anyone training with American Top Team is where people's careers go to die. Edson Barboza was once a killer powerhouse guy with nasty kicks. Hell, his kicks alone he should have been champ a long time ago. Because Mitchell is sticking to what he knows and still training in an odd way he will have the upper hand. My pick is “Thug Nasty” Bryce Mitchell, anyone else I would have picked Barboza but not against this guy.

UFC 272: Holland vs Oliveira

Kevin “Trailblazer” Holland is coming down to 170, this may be a massacre for the division. “Cowboy” Alex Oliveira has a big guy with power on his hands to deal with. Some people's thoughts are, Oliveira just has to take down Holland and it’s an easy win. From what I saw that may not be smart because the power of Holland will be a big problem. My pick is Kevin Holland, he is coming down a weight class and has been working on his ground game a little more so that should give him the edge. Or Cowboy may just take him right out. I’m excited about this one, 2021 was a very bad year for Holland. So this could be the win that will bring him back to the top.

UFC 272: Spivac vs Hardy

This fight I’m really wasn’t excited about at first until I watched Serghei Spivac's highlights. I’m EXCITED about these two big Heavyweights fighting now. We all know Greg Hardy hasn’t been in the UFC long but all his fights are pretty much with the promotion. Hardy is getting better each time I see which is great, (think about changing camps young man, American Top Team.) Both guys are coming off losses which sucks but I know Spivac just has more skills. The problem is going to be Hardy’s power to put your lights out on the spot. My pick is hmmm,… this is a hard one, Greg Hardy due to his power alone.

I’m clearly not a fan of American Top Team in Florida. If the fighters are wondering why they are not getting better, it’s too many damn people at that one gym. The so call G.O.A.T. Amanda Nunes just lost her last fight, Dustin Poirier lost his last fight, Jorge Masvidal got knocked out cold, they are not focused on improving each individual fighter's skills. Also, John “Bones” Jones is the real G.O.A.T. of UFC right now. I do have my eye on one more guy but he is still fighting and is the “King of 170 pounders” at this moment.
