Match Card:
Heavyweight Bout: Curtis Blaydes vs Chris Daukaus, I like this fight a lot, both guys have the same fighting style. Curtis Blaydes stands out a little more with the wrestling skills he brings to the Heavyweight Division. Chris Daukaus stands out with his power that knocks you cleanout. Both guys are clearly bringing new life to this Heavyweight Division. The question is who will walk away with the WIN? I think Blaydes needs to work more on his cardio to take him to that next level and maybe add in some Russian style wrestling. I don’t know if Daukaus has wrestled at all and just is not showing it which is smart at this point in time.
My pick for this is Curtis Blaydes just for having the wrestling in his back pocket.
Flyweight Bout: Joanne Wood vs Alexa Grasso, I’m not too excited about this. Jojo was one of my favorite fighters back in the day and I was hoping she would work on her ground game more because it’s a clear weakness. Alexa Grasso, I’m not too sure about her, I know she has boxing but not much of a ground game either. I think Alexa is a little small for 125 pounds so that power she normally has won’t be there. Jojo has amazing stand-up and kickboxing skills. I can’t really call this one because I know pretty much nothing about Alexa Grasso's fighting style. I even looked her up and still couldn’t come to a conclusion about her overall.
My pick is Joanne Wood due to her size over Alexa alone.
Welterweight Bout: Matt Brown vs Bryan Barberena, this has a big chance of being fight of the night. Matt “The Immortal” Brown is knocking guys out at 40 years old. One punch power still and a great all-around fighter. Bryan Barberena has good stand up, not too much wrestling but loves to throw them hands. He will take a shot to hit you back double times.
My pick is Matt Brown, he is fighting smarter at his age and his skill has powerful hands.
Flyweight Bout: Askar Askarov vs Kai Kara France in a Title Fight Eliminator. Askar Askarov is the favorite, he has no losses and has a draw with the former Champ Moreno. That’s great, Askar is from Russia so you know he knows how to take you down from anywhere. Kai Kara France is the underdog, I’m a little mind fucked here. How is Kara France the underdog, he is knocking guys out left and right, wtf. This is the fight business I see, either way, this is going to be a fight. I believe someone is getting knocked out.
My pick is Kai Kara France, the fact that he is the underdog is mind-blowing to me. This kid has won his last 3 by knocking out and submitting guys.
Heavyweight Bout: Ilir Latifi vs Aleksei Oleinik. Another crazy fight that’s put together. Latifi is normally a Light Heavyweight fighter. Latifi is not what we call a true Heavyweight at all, and this guy's output is just bad. And no not bad in a great way, 5 punches in a 15-minute fight with Lewis. Latifi loves to wrestle and win by the decision but this may not be a smart move against Aleksei Oleinik, who will tap you out from anywhere. Oleinik's record is crazy with 75 fights and 59 wins, he has lost the last 3 but against some top guys.
My pick is Aleksei Oleinik for this one. I don’t see Latifi doing much in this fight.
Lightweight Bout: Marc Diakiese vs Viacheslav Borshchev. This is not looking good for Marc Diakiese, lucky he has been in the fight business a lot longer than Viacheslav Borshchev. Diakiese is on a two-fight loss and needs this win over Borshchev. Viacheslav Borshchev has great stand up, no one has seen his ground game yet.
My pick is Viacheslav Borshchev, sorry anyone training with American Top Team is just not cutting it in the UFC.
I will say overall I’m excited about this fight card and good luck to all the fighters. Remember to take D3vicx Online Course and have the confidence you need to succeed when streaming on your device for free.
