But why is it so much slower?
Well, they do have Android 11 running on a streaming device only with 8GB. In theory,
it’s really 5GB and the worst part is you can’t downgrade this Tube from Android 11. So is the Nvidia Shield Tv 2019 worth the money? Let us take a look at the other option.

Now let’s talk about the Nvidia Shield Tv Pro 2019. To not confuse anyone we are going to shorten the name to Nvidia Shield Pro.
The Nvidia Shield Pro shares the same NVIDIA® Tegra® X1+ processor with a 256-core GPU but with 3 GB RAM. Could the 3 GB of RAM make such a big difference in speed?
The Nvidia Shield Pro is also packing 16GB of gigabyte space. On top of this, right out of the box, you can downgrade the Nvidia Shield Pro back down to Android 9. Giving the Nvidia Shield Pro back its 20% speed that it lost when you upgraded the streaming device to Android 11.

The winner of the Nvidia Shields
Both streaming devices are great compared to other streaming devices on the market. Clearly, having an Android device is a dream if you ask me.
Nvidia Shield Tv Pro 2019
The winner of the Shields is the Nvidia Shield Pro. Mostly because you can downgrade the Android System.
Both streaming devices can expand their storage but the SSD Drive is going to make the difference in reading files.
The crazy part, the Shield devices are only $50 a part in the price. Due to this little price difference, it’s best to find that extra $50 to get the Nvidia Shield Pro over the Nvidia Shield Tv.
The Nvidia Shield Tv to me, has no place in the market. It’s not going up against any other streaming device on the market. At the price of $150, it sits in the middle of all the streaming devices with a little edge. Again that extra $50 you can just get the Nvidia Shield Pro.
I almost forgot, the Apple Tv 4K 3rd Generation 128GB sits at the price point of $150. Clearly, the Nvidia Shield Tv will be dropped and hopefully not come back when the new Nvidia Shields come out.

It’s only 1 Shield that’s still worth the money and that is the Nvidia Shield Tv Pro 2019. If you have a chance to buy the Nvidia Shield Pro 2017, pass on it. It may come with 500GB but the NVIDIA® Tegra® X1 processor is an older one.
