Why Watch AEW over WWE?
Why myself and more adults are watching All Elite Wrestling (AEW) programs over World Wide Entertainment (WWE) programs? In this blog, I will try to explain why I, a long-time WWE fan, am no longer watching WWE. And why I’m hoping with my fingers crossed that the 4 Horsewomen of WWE will jump ship over to AEW one day. Plus, how you can watch AEW Dynamite on Wednesdays and AEW Rampage on Fridays Live on TNT. Stop missing out on the best wrestling program on the planet which is AEW. Back in the 1990s, I started watching WWF at the age of 3, from my stepdad's VCR tapes. He was in the Navy so another family member would record all the shows and PPVs for my stepdad so when he got back from the sea, he could catch up on what was going on. Yea, how at 3 years of age did I know how to use a VCR, I don’t know for sure but I just knew how to work the thing, it was pretty simple. Now around this time, I saw for the first time Miss Elizabeth with the Macho Man Randy Savage against George “The Animal” Steele (you can see the video here). Miss Elizabeth was the sweetest woman and her character just pulled me and millions of other fans in. This beautiful heart-pulling storyline WWE could never duplicate today.
The 4 Horsewomen
Fast forward to September 2021, and the WWE hasn’t really had too many good matches. All the best Matches are in NXT and the Women’s Division on the Main rosters with the 4 Horsewomen and the Riott Squad. I know all things don’t last in WWE but Vince McMahon knows how to destroy a great storyline in the middle of the storyline. He even knows how to destroy a whole Division on that note. It’s been years and we are all still waiting on the Stable 4 Horsewomen. To really run the Women’s Division, help make more stars and pull up NXT talent to the main roster. Each woman shows what they are strong at and that’s 3 Heels with 1 Baby Face (Bayley). Bayley is a big draw as Raw Women’s Champion as the Baby Face, give Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair the role as Heels after the Tag Team Championships. Make that Championship about something because it’s a joke right now. Leaving Becky Lynch as Smackdown Heel Champion she is “The Man”. But the WWE is known for not giving the fans what they want and if they do decide to listen to the fans, it’s like pulling teeth and it takes so many years. Plus, by the time it starts to happen, you will have stopped watching by then. So you end up missing the moment you were waiting for and you don’t get to share in it. Sasha Banks is a great explanation of this. For years she would lose to Charlotte at PPVs but win on Raw Live and have the shortest title runs in WWE history. That is a hard pill to swallow even for me, how Sasha Banks dealt with that I have no clue. It made her title runs pointless because she really sold those matches with Flair, making Flair look unstoppable. It took 3 years of fans wanting to see her hold the title for longer than 27 days. By the time this happen, I had stopped watching altogether.
So I never got to see my favorite wrestler hold the belt for longer than 27 days. I didn’t watch Sasha Banks Smackdown run at all, live on Smackdown. I tried to tune in and it just wasn’t happening, so I watched some of the highlights on YouTube. I was too busy watching the whole AEW program and Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. make sure no one forgot who she was when she broke her leg. Now why did I put these two ladies’ names together, this is a “dream match” and you all know it. I love Sasha Banks — hands down the best wrestler of all time — and Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. is right there with her tearing the house down show after show. I don’t know if these two ladies have magic together in the ring or not but I would love to see this match. I want to see what Banks can do outside the WWE. Sasha Banks is already a star and the best in the world but it’s time to really prove it. (Also, if you sign to the WWE, copyright your wrestling name first.) The only problem is Sasha Banks is still signed with WWE, I don’t know for how much longer, but she is still being misused as always. While Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. has just started on AEW, hopefully, they will meet down the road.

Now on to Ruby Soho aka Ruby Riott, it doesn’t matter what name Ruby decides on she is fucking amazing. I know Sarah Logan was released a while back and had a baby. Liv Morgan is out there somewhere in the wind with WWE, but if these three amazing ladies get back together I believe AEW is the place and the stable should be called “The Squad” or “Soho Squad” super simple. Ruby Soho showed up on AEW All Out on September 5th, if you missed it kick yourself now. She also had another match on AEW Dynamit Wednesday Night as well, if you missed it kick yourself again. Ruby Soho is a great wrestler and brings a lot to the table. AEW is the best thing that ever happened to her and me as a fan of hers. Ruby Soho has that “IT” factory but the WWE pushed her aside. Along with other average-sized wrestlers both men and women, time and time again, which pissed me off. The whole Ronda Rousey year was a shit show and hard to watch. Ronda is not a wrestler and can not wrestle at all. Ronda Rousey is a sore loser, not a team player, shit talker, and that was the straw for me. Seeing Rousey and the Bella Twins when you had real talent like the Roitt Squad, the 4 Horsewomen, Ember Moon, and Asuka tearing down the house on NXT, Raw & Smackdown. Out with the old, that didn’t cut it, and in with the new, who could bring it. Best matches all the Women Divisions Elimination Chamber matches and Hell in the Cells.
If you are tired of that bullshit in WWE as well as I am, AEW Dynamit and Rampage are for you, true wrestling fans. I can’t stand that some of the best women's talents are being trashed in WWE. They can be in AEW making dream matches and really creating art and believable storylines. Cody is one of the best storytellers, the real broken noise wearing the mask, giving people paper bags to put on. Then he was giving Stardust, what, why? I stopped watching again around this time, I couldn’t take it anymore. The last WWE program I watched was Summerslam 2021 for FREE on my Jailbroken Fully Loaded Device. I was watching to see Sasha Banks, I only watch for the women, and I was excited but all that talking started and she wasn’t even there. I’m like ok, and “The Man” Becky Lynch returns, ok and 27 seconds later she is the champ again, ok. I fell asleep, I didn’t go to sleep, I fell asleep. That’s how boring I thought WWE Summerslam 2021 was. I woke up to John Cena losing and Brock Lenser returning again, boring to watch again. It was a waste of a night, the only match that had something was Charlotte Flair vs Nikki A.S.H. for the title, I know it was a triple threat but I didn’t want to see the other chick in the match.
By this time I’m like I’m going to start watching AEW all the time and see it lead up to All Out on September 5th, 2021. I do have a blog on my thoughts about the matches before that PPV happened. I saw CM Punk, sorry I wasn’t excited but I thought yea cool. I would have been more excited to see AJ Lee return to the ring. I’m a bigger fan of Women’s Wrestling clearly, but I do have the guys I love and the matches I like to see. Cody Rhodes is my top guy been watching him since before Legacy. My matches of the night were MJF vs Chris Jericho and The Young Bucks vs Lucha Brothers for Tag Team Championships. Now Chris Jericho's career was on the line and MJF has been kicking his ass, so this was a must-watch. Then Tag Team Gold in a Steel Cage, I do love Tag-Team Wrestling and AEW has the best Teams in the World right now. Private Party, The Young Bucks, Lucha Brothers, FTR, and Jurassic Express.
Bryan Danielson is All Elite
AEW has two shows a week Wednesday night on TNT Dynamic and Friday night on TNT Rampage. Now do you know who is new to AEW, I’ll name-drop them for you. CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Adam Cole, Ruby Soho, Andrade El Idolo, Christian Cage, and Malakai Black, on top of the stars they already had. Like Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes, The Young Buck, Chris Jericho, MJF, Orange Cassidy, Jurassic Express, Hangman Adam Page, Shawn Spears, Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D., Jon Moxley, and Darby Allin.
