Most likely you decided to pick up a Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 in 2024. Congrats to you but you didn’t have a plan on what to do with the device next. Just like you didn’t know you would have so many issues with the Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 right out of the box. Guess what, your worst fear of owning a Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 has come true.

Lol, no just playing. You don’t think we didn’t have these same problems. We have been dealing with Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 since 2020 so we have seen just about everything there is to go wrong with the Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019. But you are in luck.
How is that you ask? I like problems but what I like the most is fixing problems when it comes to technology. Mostly the Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 and the Apple TV 4K 2022.

How to set up a Nvidia Shield Pro: Does Nvidia Shield have Android 11?
Right out of the box, you most likely plugged in your Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019. Then you let it load up and do all the updates it needed to do before you even got to the Home Screen.
Here is where you and I are different from the start.
I don’t just plug in the power cable. I first plug in the USB to my computer and then the USB to the Nvidia Shield Pro, I plug in a gaming controller to the Nvidia Shield Pro, and then I plug in the power to the device and hold A+B on the controller. This way the bootloader page shows on the TV. What I do is flash the system to downgrade the device to Android 9 version 8.2.1.
You most likely are thinking, well you didn’t think to do that. No, you didn’t. But how could you if you don’t do this for a business like we do?
You are the average person who buys tech, plugs it in, and wants it to work. Which is should.
I’m someone who deals with the reality of tech and its problems all day long so I know NOT to do what it is that you do. I know a brand new Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 needs the system to be flashed because I don’t want to deal with the headaches that come with Android 11. And I tell you it’s a ton of headaches, people are still going crazy today.
Like, buffering, for some weird reason you need to uninstall the Plex Server Media app to get the device to stop buffering.
I thought that was so weird. Plex is a big reason people buy this device alongside Kodi. This too is also messed up. They know people are loading up the Kodi with builds so things in Android 11 are to stop this. Now, if they really cared, we wouldn’t be able to downgrade the device back down to Android 9, let alone version 8.2.1.
I think looking at this from a business standpoint, the upgrade to the horrible Android 11 was to deter people from trying to load the device with search engines aka APKs, that offer free streaming content. To make it even worse, Android 11 blocks some of the best APKs that help give you privacy from your internet provider.
Sorry, this APK I can not share due to the developer's request. But this APK gets you around needing a paid VPN because it gives you free DNS with a free VPN built into the system and an Adblocker.
We are going to look at this very differently. This is a hobby for you and most of the people on Reddit are hobbiers, to us it’s a full-time business. Either way, it’s good for both of us. For every problem you have, I do the same one move to get rid of the problem and that is to flash the system. Doesn’t matter the problem, flash the system and start on a fresh downgraded system you can now control and customize to your liking. Yes, it’s that easy to fix the problem.

Is there a way to roll back from the HotFix or a Rooted Nvidia Shield Pro?
“There is no way to roll back from the HotFix.” We have brains and devices don’t, of course, there is a way to roll back from the HotFix and from a Rooted device that no longer works.
All you do is flash the system and downgrade the device to an Android system that is hosted on Nvidia.com Our team does this to every Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019. We flash all systems to Android 9 version 8.2.1. Some of you may have to flash the device system twice or even a third time but it can be done, I promise you that.
We have never run across a Nvidia Shield Pro yet that we couldn’t fix. Not saying this will happen one day but again, we have brains, we are humans and can find the answer even if it takes some time.
Now, for rooted devices, I do see someone out there selling rooted Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pros. Be careful with these devices, we have been getting a ton of them lately to fix. When we get them the rooted Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pro is D.O.A., dead on arrival. I’m not sure how this can happen because we don’t mess with rooting.

How do I stop my Nvidia Shield from buffering?
Have you checked to see how much gigabyte space is left on your Nvidia Shield Pro? I see that a ton of people never talk about this little important aspect. How much space are you working with? Let me ask you another question.
When was the last time you cleared your cache on your Nvidia Shield Pro?
Most people don’t have an app on their Nvidia Shield Pro to do this maintenance at least once a month. Clear the cache and force-stop applications running in the background. Maintenance is the key to stopping buffering on any device. Well, it’s a good place to start.
From there if it’s not maintenance then it could be your WiFi. Did you know WiFi 5, 6, and 6E doesn’t travel through walls too well? The wall starts to break up the connection. The only WiFi that travels the fairest and through walls is WiFi 2.4 GHz.
Just thinking off the top of my head buffering can also be caused by equipment that is given to you by your internet providers. They give out the same cheap equipment to everyone, it’s important to own your own Modem/Router or at get a mesh network system like Plum Pods.
If it turns out to be none of this, of course, it’s the device. On a Nvidia Shield Pro running Android 11, good luck dealing with that. I have no answers other than uninstall the Plex Server or is it called the Plex Server Media Player? Either way, uninstall that and see how it works. Still giving you issues, flash the system and downgrade the device to Android 9 version 8.2.1.

Can you fix my Nvidia Shield Pro & jailbreak it?

You now have to go find out what it is and get one out of the four that is offered and hope the one you signed up for is on all the APKs and Kodi builds on that device.
Yes, I have been fixing these kinds of so-called Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pros all Winter to Summer long. My next statement to you is, STOP buying cheap jailbroken devices. When you buy cheap you pay twice. It’s like saving up for a Tesla but you buy a Honda Civic first when you really want the Tesla. Just keep rocking with what you are using until you get the full amount for the Tesla so you only buy the luxury or premium item once.
This my friend is called delayed gratification. Learn about it and use it, I’m telling you the wait is so worth it in the end.
