Yes, look at your bill, you get charged for WiFi for that terrible equipment they give us to hook up. The equipment you are given is the cheapest they can throw together and then slap a high price on if you don’t return it.

You want something better than that trash bag equipment they hand out to everyone. You also want something you can add on security too. At one point in time, you could go into the system of the equipment and change the DNS on the Router/Modem. Now in 2024, they have it blocked. When you try to use a new DNS, it will change back to the automatic one that came with the equipment.

This is the internet company monitoring your every move to see what you are using when you are streaming. No, I’m not going to use the phrase, big brother, I don’t want to freak people out too much. See when you can change the DNS on the equipment, to let's say Cloudflare DNS, this gives you 100% total privacy when you are online. This would also be great if someone had hacked and spoofed your WiFi. Without that IP address, no one can track or monitor you.

On top of that, the more devices you hook up to these Router/Modem, the slower the equipment gets. I have a workaround for that but I’ll go into that a little later. You want to own your own Router/Modem so you can add on a new DNS like Cloudflare or even AdGuard. With the AdGuard DNS, it’s a built-in VPN, so not only is it blocking ads on third-party apps but it’s also masking the IP Address of your Jailbroken Device. Making it harder for your internet company to follow what you are doing.

Now, if you live here in New York City like we do, having your own Router/Modem is great to help stop the block the internet companies have adding onto devices like the Jailbroken Firestick or Jailbroken Apple TVs. Funny, how did they even start doing this to Jailbroken Apple TVs, they are pretty rare. How is My Router/Modem being slowed down?

I noticed most people are not aware of how many devices they add on or take off their Modem/Router. But when you take off, or you really going into the Modem/Router and deleting it from the system. Most likely not, with too many home devices on one Modem/Router system running at the same time can slow down the WiFi in your home.

People think, oh this Modem/Router should be fine. But it’s not, for every person that comes into your home and sign on to your WiFi they are slowing it down. It’s making that Modem/Router work even harder.

So how do you fix this problem? Easy, get a mesh networking system. At this point one should come included with a Modem/Router. So what in the world is a Mesh Networking System, well, they were really big back in 2018 when they first launched. After a year or so I see that have lose their touch and are no longer big. This is something you are going to need. Think of the Mesh Networking SYstem as little satlittes you set up around your home, now they are going to even distribute WiFi around the house evenly.

Depending on what brand you get, they can sign your device to the right WiFi GHz it was built for. I use Plume Pods (NOT A SPONSOR), you can control everything through the app with these pods. You can make a special password different from the one for your Modem/Router. On top of that, you can make up special passwords for guess. When someone leave your home, you can kick their devices on your homes WiFi so it won’t take up space.

Plume Pods also act as a blocker from internet attacks. Like I get notices once in awhile someone is trying to hook up to my phone from another country but Plume will block it from happening.

Are you see where we are going with this? If you have too much devices on your Modem/Router you are renting from your internet provider it’s most likely your set up that is slowing down your streaming on a device and not the device. The best way to really test if it’s the device is to plug in that ethernet cable.

With the ethernet cable plug-in, power is going directly to the device. There is nothing in the air to disturb the frequency. Did you also know that WiFi 5, 6, and 6E don’t travel far and can barely get through walls? The only WiFi that has these capabilities is WiFi 2.4GHz. I know you are shocked, and so was I when I found this out.

This was the main reason I stopped using WiFi with my streaming devices. But if you have no choice but to use WiFi, get the Mesh Networking System, it will solve problems like the WiFi not being strong enough to travel through walls. It’s a great feeling and thought to know you have little satellites around your home.

In Conclusion

Everything I just threw at you was a lot to take in. It blew my mind as well when I found this information out. A lot of the problems I had most likely you are having them too. I had WiFi but it was not getting through to each room. I really had to research this information and this was back in 2018 when it wasn’t a lot online just yet.

I found out building made of cement and steel can block WiFi signals from traveling. Then I found out that if WiFi is trying to travel through your kitchen the appliances will be the problem and block the WiFi signal as well. It’s important to know about your whole setup.
